Many people think there is no direct relationship between our daily lives and Mother Nature. Captain isn’t one of them. “The vegetables we consume come from the earth, the fish from the ocean. The water and fresh air that surround us are also elements of nature. That is why we are so closely bound together by the natural environment.” He believes flowers and trees fill cities with vitality. He also endorses the idea that nothing is more essential to urban redevelopment than the preservation of the environment. THE H COLLECTION, High West, which is located in Sai Ying Pun, once put Captain Wong to the test with two stone wall trees that were affecting the progress of the project’s construction. He recalls, “Henderson Land is a property developer that cares about the environment. They were willing to listen and take my suggestions.” After extensive research, a way was found to relocate the trees without damaging them. A species of flora unique to the area had hence been preserved. In addition, Henderson Land has set up a Green Building Research Committee that promotes the development of green architecture. Henderson Land also strives for designs that are in line with BEAM Plus, and not only meet, but surpass the industry building system standards. So all residents can enjoy a greener, healthier living environment.

The Group’s comprehensive development at Wo Shang Wai, a pioneering integrated wetland conservation and development project in Hong Kong, is a showcase of its sustainable development approach. The project includes a restored wetland, which has attracted dozens of bird species to the area. It’s all part of our vision to build a more sustainable tomorrow for our community.
